Hi, I just read your comment and I am literally SHOCKED (not because of you), I am not quite sure what the laws are in your state but I live in FL and it is absoultely AGAINST the LAW to let someone go due to an illness of their own or one of an immediate family member & I am sure that you child falls in that guideline. Don't get me wrong, i don't feel that u did anything wrong, not even asking for assist., but, i think that your boss/employerer just isn't aware of the law or where u live the laws don't apply?! but, i definitly think that it is worth looking into & maybe you can get some backpay due to wrongful termination & that in turn will help you with some of your bills. I'm sorry that I personally can't help, I myself am disabled after working for 10+yrs fulltime in the medical feild so I feel for you and I hope I can research some more and at least get u some info. that will help u. Also, with the utility bills, generally almost any church will help (even if u don't go to them), just bring the past due or shut off notice and explain your situation & between all of the churchs' in your area I am sure one of them will help you, at least I hope so. plz w/b and let me know, I will send u more info. but I need the state ? county u live in.
I hope this helped.
PS: The law I was referring to is called : THE FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT
Good Luck, Marcia
